Tom Swaak

Tom Swaak graduated from KU Leuven as a philosopher and literary expert. Since 2019, he works at Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, providing dramaturgical production support for world creations such as Deus universalis by J. Delouvroy, Rizoom! by I. Bouche and K. Proesmans and Doem and verlossing with singers and pianists of the International Opera Academy.

He collaborated on FUTUR PROCHE with choreographer Jan Martens, a production which premiered at the cour d’honneur of the Festival d’Avignon to great acclaim. During the 2022-2023 season, he assisted Tom Goossens in the latter’s new direction of Le nozze di Figaro. Together with choreographer Stijn Celis, he will prepare the 2023-2024 production of K. Weill’s Die Sieben Todsünden. In addition to production dramaturgy, he loves providing additional texts and introductions for Opera Ballet Vlaanderen.
