Klara Vermeer


Belgian soprano Klara Vermeer has performed in several operas, oratorios, concerts and Lied recitals. In 2019 she made her opera debut as Belinda in H. Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, followed by the role of Zerlina in W.A. Mozart’s Don Giovanni directed by Louisa Muller.

In 2022, Klara performed the Belgian premiere of Dan Forrest’s Jubilate Deo with Vocaal Ensemble Markant and sang G. Mahler’s Fourth Symphony at De Singel Anwerp conducted by Alexander Zemtsov. That same year she started BOS Producties, a collective of singers who produce music theatre for children. She premiered their first production Het Geheim van Nonkel Bos in 2023.

Klara had the opportunity to participate in masterclasses by Dorothea Röschmann, Malcolm Martineau, Furio Zanasi, Robert Crowe, Roberta Faroldi, Ronny Lauwers, Mareike Zimmerman and Martin Wölfel. In 2023, she won the Hans-Judenkünig Preis for her vocal performance in lute song.

Klara graduated with highest distinction and congratulations from the jury from the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp in 2023, where she studied with soprano Anne Cambier. Klara is currently studying at the International Opera Academy in Ghent.
