We gluren allemaal weleens naar de buren. Maar wat zien we – de waarheid, of een gekleurde versie ervan? Komen we ooit tussenbeide? Maakt het kijken ons medeplichtig? Een schreeuw in het donker, een buur die verdwijnt: zal onze gedeelde angst ons uit onze isolatie trekken?
Zes jaar geleden ging deze Hitchcock-thriller (door Annelies Van Parys) in première bij Opera Ballet Vlaanderen. Nu interpreteert regisseur Tom Creed de opera opnieuw, in een productie met Muziektheater Transparant, SPECTRA en het jong talent van de International Opera Academy.

We all spy on the neighbours from time to time. When we do so, do we see the truth – or is that ‘truth’ coloured by our own perspectives? Should we ever intervene? Are we complicit in what we see? A cry in the night, a vanished neighbour: will shared fear draw us out of our isolation?
Having premiered six years ago at Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, this Hitchcock-inspired thriller by Annelies Van Parys is revisited by director Tom Creed, in a new production with Muziektheater Transparant, SPECTRA and the young artists of the International Opera Academy.
