Wraak: een te verantwoorden menselijke reactie? Onbewust of bewust? Zonder effect of met een onomkeerbare uitkomst? In dit programma ontrafelen we verschillende facetten van wraak. Niet enkel aan de hand van grote dramatische wraakaria’s, maar ook met werken die de meer genuanceerde psychologie van dit thema vatten. Regisseur en choreograaf Darren Ross giet alles in een gelaagde performance waarin de studenten van de International Opera Academy zich kunnen uitleven met aria’s en ensembles van onder andere Benjamin Britten, Igor Stravinsky, Kurt Weill en Pascal Dusapin.

Revenge: a justified human response? Unconscious or conscious? Without consequence or with an irreversible aftermath?
This programme unravels different facets of revenge – through grand, dramatic revenge arias, but also in works dealing with the more nuanced psychology of this theme. Director/choreographer Darren Ross moulds all into a layered performance in which the students of the International Opera Academy express themselves in arias and ensembles by amongst others Benjamin Britten, Igor Stravinsky, Kurt Weill, and Pascal Dusapin.
