Alex Gibb
Alex Gibb is a South African-British baritone, who holds a Master of Music from the Royal
Northern College of Music, as well as an AdvDip in Practical Music from Stellenbosch University
studying under Quentin Hayes and Minette du Toit-Pearce.
His most recent roles include Guglielmo (Così Fan Tutte), Germont (La Traviata), Byermata (The Snow Maiden), Sir Thomas Bertram (Mansfield Park), as well as Marco (Gianni Schicchi).
Alex most recently was a 2025 Buxton Festival Young Artist, where he performed in the chorus of Ambroise Thomas’s Hamlet, as well as in Shorts, a set of four pocket operas.
Alex is also a talented song singer, having performed with Sir Stephen Hough, singing excerpts of his composition, Other Love Songs, as well as performing as a soloist in the world premier of Meriel Price’s, Building Sights, as part of the Made in Manchester Festival.
