Alex Gibb
Alex Gibb is a South African-British baritone, who holds a Master of Music from the Royal
Northern College of Music, as well as an AdvDip in Practical Music from Stellenbosch University
studying under Quentin Hayes and Minette du Toit-Pearce.
His most recent roles include Guglielmo (Così Fan Tutte) and John Brooke (Little Women) — both at the IOA — as well as Germont (La Traviata), Byermata (The Snow Maiden), Sir Thomas Bertram (Mansfield Park), and Marco (Gianni Schicchi).
Alex most recently was a 2025 Buxton Festival Young Artist, where he performed in the chorus of Ambroise Thomas’s Hamlet, as well as in Shorts, a set of four pocket operas.
Alex is also a talented song singer, having performed with Sir Stephen Hough, singing excerpts of his composition, Other Love Songs, as well as performing as a soloist in the world premier of Meriel Price’s, Building Sights, as part of the Made in Manchester Festival.
