Martijn van Sas is a Belgian pianist, specializing in vocal accompaniment, with a strong focus on song art. He earned his master’s degree with highest distinction at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent under Vitaly Samoshko, followed by a postgraduate at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna with Charles Spencer.
His development was enriched by the Udo Reinemann International Masterclasses at La Monnaie (2019-2020), together with soprano Franches Dhont. Martijn won the Best Pianist Award at the Song Art Masterclasses in Husum (2019, 2021) and, together with soprano Anna Sophia Theil, he was a finalist at the Schubert Song Competition in Dortmund (2023) and the Hugo Wolf Competition in Stuttgart (2024).
